Welcome to my web page. My name is Maria and I would like to introduce myself or better still my fascinating hobby known in Malta as Ganutell.
In the middle of the last century, interest in Ganutell waned and it seemed that it would not be long before this wonderful craft would be a thing of the past. It was only towards the end of the last century that Ganutell saw a strong revival, interest increased and thanks to the internet, the art of Ganutell has spread over the five continents. I have had enquires from practically all over the world and I had the pleasure of giving practical demonstrations in Portugal, UK and the USA. I also had students coming from Japan to follow an intensive course.
The technique is rather simple but perfection comes at a price. Perfection can only be achieved through practice - hours of practice, however never be disheartened for once you have achieved your goal, your creations, framed in display boxes will decorate your home. A fitting tribute to your perseverence.
I Hope that you will find this intriguing craft interesting enough for you to join the ever increasing number of those who have found relaxation and satisfaction as they proudly display their first flower.
Regards
Maria Kerr
